The Autum Bowl is for sale!
Anyone have $15k I can borrow?
If so you can own the historic Autum Bowl, and you can buy it on eBay.
After 7 long years we are selling our well loved bowl. This is your chance to own a skateboarding landmark. Put it in your backyard, skatepark or private warehouse. This one of a kind bowl was built by a team lead by Tim Vanderbas in September of 2003. Endless lines, perfect transitions, tons of fun. This bowl has been skated by nearly every pro out there including Julien Stranger, Lance Mountain, Tony Hawk, Steve Cabalerro, Spanky, Zared Basset...the list goes on and on. The bowl is due for a new layer of birch ply and the pool coping is perfectly worn in. The dimensions are about 45'x45', 7' in the deep and about 5' - 5.5' everywhere else. Price does not include removal or installation. Bowl must be removed before August 29, 2010, unless other arrangements are made prior to sale. Help save The Turf!
There's a fight save a piece of skateboarding history, and they need your help!
In Milwaukee, WI a group of skateboarders is trying to save The Turf. An epic skatepark from the infancy of skateboarding was unearthed during the construction of a new overpass, and a group of skateboarders came out to dig out the pools, in order to skate there spot once again.
They are currently working to bring The Turf back to life, and have a petition on Facebook, and have created the Milwaukee Skateboard Association to bring attention to the cause. Take a few minutes to sign your name, and send some encouragement to skateboarders in need of your help and together we can all bring back a piece of skateboarding that was once lost.
But Thursday night the Department of Transportation filled them in once again...

Sunnyvale Skatepark – Sunnyvale CA
Sunnyvale skatepark is a lot of fun. There is something for everyone. From a set of stairs with a ledge and a rail to a 8ft bowl, and a high vert wall. There is a nice spine that connects the bowl to a mini that even has a roll in. The 2ft mini is fun to play around on, and is good for anyone just getting started. There are a bunch of ledges of different heights, and they make nice manual pads.
The ground is smooth cement, and there is steel coping on every ramp. The transitions are smooth, and the city keeps the park really clean. There are also some big trees on one side that offer a little shade, and some benches behind a fence for spectators.
This park is fun. There are options in lines, and you can go as big as you want.
pros:
- Ramps of every variety
- Park is always clean
- Tons of lines
- Steel coping everywhere
- Ground is smooth and fast
cons:
- It fills up at about 10am
- Some bikes usually
- Closest food / drinks are about 5 blocks away.
hours: Dawn till Dusk
pads: not enforced.
OVERALL RATING: 9 out of 10
